1985 Mustang Parts
Minor enhancements were the key for the 1985 Mustang. The lineup was simplified once again, as the base L model was completely eliminated, leaving only the LX and GT models, as well as the unique SVO trim. The 302 H.O. V8 was optimized for an additional 35 horsepower, while the fuel-injected version of the 302 V8 saw an increase of 15 horsepower, to 180 total. The front end received another new look, made to look sleeker and more streamlined, similar to the previous year's SVO.
The SVO itself returned at midyear with 30 more horsepower and a few other exterior changes. Several minor performance and interior changes were made across the board to complete the model year's revisions. Sales continued to rise, to 156,514 for 1985, up more than 15,000 for the year.
