2017 Mustang Parts

Two years into the sixth generation of the Mustang, the new S550 Mustang platform from Ford is in full swing. The 2017 Mustang is much of the same from the 2015 and 2016 model years with a few subtle changes. Whether you’re looking for slight modifications and accessories or a complete overhaul of your driveline, suspension, interior and exterior, CJ’s has the 2017 Mustang Parts you need to get your new pony looking and performing at its absolute best!

With the introduction of Ford Performance’s GT350 and GT350R into the lineup, the S550 Mustang now covers a large audience from base model V6 rental cars all the way up to asphalt-eating GT350R track monsters. On top of the GT350’s addition, Ford made some minor changes to the 2017 Mustang that are bound to get some enthusiast’s attention. For example, Ford added Grabber Blue, Lightning Blue and White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat into the color lineup. Grabber Blue has been a long time waiting after its massive success and popularity on the S197 models. Unfortunately, with the introduction of these colors, Ford had to rid of Competition Orange, Deep Impact Blue, Guard and Kona Blue (Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Edition Color) to balance things out.

2017 Mustang V6

Coming with the peppy 300 horsepower 3.7L V6 engine, the base model Mustang is no slouch. With a starting MSRP right around $24,500, the 2017 V6 Mustang is a great car for the money, especially when you’re looking for a daily driver with some decent power when you get on the gas pedal.

The V6 is a gas-sipper too! Combine that with the attractive price point, and that’s why you see a lot of rental companies picking up this base model V6 Mustang. Coming in at 18 city/27 highway and 21 combined miles per gallon, the Mustang V6 certainly doesn’t compromise performance for efficiency.

2017 Mustang EcoBoost

If you haven’t noticed by now, the 2.3L EcoBoost has really stepped up and taken the place of what used to be the budget performance Mustang - the Mustang V6. There are various reasons for this. One being that Ford is pushing the EcoBoost platform on all of their models in an effort to show consumers that it is possible to get efficiency and decent power output out of an engine. That ideology certainly lines up with the EcoBoost Mustang as well. With up to 30 highway miles per gallon (some have reported even more!) and 310 horsepower on 93 octane fuel, this four-cylinder Mustang is more nimble, lighter and quicker than its predecessor, the Mustang V6.

Another plus to the EcoBoost Mustang would be how well it takes to modifications. Some EcoBoost owners have gotten up to 100 rwtq gains just out of an intercooler, downpipe and tune! On top of that, Ford offers the Performance Package with the EcoBoost which consists of a larger intercooler, unique chassis tuning, black wheels with sticky Pirelli tires, a performance gauge cluster and stiffer suspension. Combine that with the right modifications from CJ Pony Parts, and your EcoBoost could easily be a GT killer!

2017 Mustang GT

One small difference the Mustang GT will see for the 2017 model year is the deletion of the integrated turn signals in the hood vents like Ford did for the 2016 Mustangs. But don’t worry, if you still want the integrated turn signals, Starkey has a kit just for you! Aside from that, the 2017 Mustang GT is powered by the same 435 horsepower 5.0L Coyote engine that propels you from 0-60 mph in about 4.5 seconds; not too shabby!

On top of that, there isn’t much more different on the 2017 GT. The additional colors, including Grabber Blue, will add a new, unique look for those enthusiasts who are wanting to stand out. Combine that with the somewhat mind-numbing performance of the 5.0L V8 along with the Performance Package, and you’ve got yourself one head-turning vehicle right off the showroom floor.

2017 Shelby GT350/GT350R

Ford and Ford Performance made a few changes to the GT350 and GT350R for the 2017 model year. The main change being that the Track Package components such as the Aluminum Strut Tower Brace, Engine Oil, Transmission and Differential Coolers and MagneRide Damping System are all standard across the board for GT350s now. On top of that, you will see the raised decklid spoiler as standard equipment on all GT350s and new colors like Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue and Ruby Red Metallic which are all now available on the GT350 and GT350R.

For the GT350R, they now have an R-specific “R-Electronics Package,” which includes a 9-speaker audio system, AM/FM Stereo/Single-CD player, SYNC 3, Rear-View Camera, Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control, Navigation and more.

Powered by a work of art when it comes to modern engineering is the 5.2L “Voodoo” V8 with a flat plane crank with an output of a staggering 526 horsepower. That equates to over 100 horsepower per liter!
